Our Story
Meet Geary Farm owners - Richard and Amanda Geary. Geary Farms was started back in 2020, just a few months before the pandemic. Though it was risky, we rolled the dice and bought the property of our dreams. Shortly after, we built our homestead here where we would raise our family. During and after the pandemic, there were alot of meat shortages and once that finally subsided, the “high quality” meat we were getting was not what it used to be. It was bright red, pumped with filler, lacked flavor and would shrink to half the size in the frying pan. At that point, we had a 6 month old daughter who was eager to try solid foods. I just couldn’t accept putting food in my daughters mouth that I had no idea of the the contents or where it came from.
So, I started digging. I spent months researching every aspect of the meat industry only to find that the meat we were eating every single day was shoved into a bare feedlot, forced to only eat grain for a few months before heading off to butcher packed into a trailer like sardines. We immediately started paying top dollar for organic beef from sources we could trust, until we could get our fence up and raise them ourselves.
Fast forward one year… we now own and operate a Wagyu and Black Angus beef cattle farm, providing high quality meat to the public at a grocery store price (or better!). We now feel good about what we eat and what we are feeding our family, knowing that the meat was loved and cared for as a pet. Happy cows make some healthy beef!
